Analytics privacy

Updated November 3, 2026.

This portfolio uses PostHog and Segment, which forwards selected events to Google Analytics 4, to understand visits and interactions with projects, navigation, filters, links, voting outcomes, gallery controls, section views, search result-count ranges and authentication form outcomes. Search text is never collected.

Analytics events include page paths, referring domains, event times, and selected action properties such as a project name or button type. URL queries and fragments, form values, account details, and user-entered content are excluded. There is no session recording or automatic form capture.

Segment uses a temporary anonymous identifier in memory; it is not persisted in cookies or browser storage. It resets on a full page load. PostHog is configured for cookieless measurement. Analytics providers receive network requests and may process technical connection information under their own privacy policies. These measures limit tracking, but do not make every network request anonymous.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control disable analytics. Browser tracking protection or blocking the analytics providers can also prevent collection. Authentication and project voting use separate operational storage where needed.

Segment receives only fixed, allowlisted page paths and action properties, with no referring URL. Its temporary identifier resets on a full page load, so cross-visit user and session counts are limited.
